• 2012: Merchant Capital was founded.
• 2013: Opus18 Capital Partners (previously Capricorn Capital Partners) becomes a shareholder.
• 2016: Rand Merchant Investment Holdings becomes a shareholder.
• 2018: Standard Bank becomes a shareholder.
• 2022: R10 billion funded to almost 50 000 SME merchants since 2012
